Micro-Trend: the Baseball Dress

Tom Ford Fall 2014

Micro-trends are often the ones that influence me the most on a daily basis and that determine my outfit choices. Most of the time, they are given a negligible space  at the bottom of the page in fashion magazines, which is, as far as I'm concerned, inversely related to their inspirational potential. I have thus regularly crushes I hasten to adopt and put in practise. The Baseball cap was already a favourite of the edgiest fashionistas and it's now in the form of a dress that the trend is coming back; Spotted notably at Tom Ford Fall Winter 2014 fashion show in a sequinned version paired with fishnet tights and boots, it seems to me that it is a versatile and easy to wear item- its more or less sophisticated accessorizing determining its verging on a sporty and casual look or, on the contrary, on a more feminine and sexy outfit. For my part I decided to dig out my Zara Baseball vest and wore it with star-printed leggings, studded heeled boots and fishnet sweater and skirt. Here is my selection of affordable look alikes that are rife in highstreet stores. Vive le sport! ;)
